“Oh my,” she noted, to no one in particular. Or maybe she was talking to this wild pokemon? Nah. Most of those were just animals in her opinion. They could certainly read the mood and react to stimuli, yes. But unlike some other trainers, she hardly ever treated them as anything more than that. Certainly not like people. Sometimes she talked to her own, sure, but that was really just her talking to herself in many ways.
A wild one though? No way to talk to those. Heck, unless they were in a pokeball in the first place, those were quite hard to reason with at all, and she quickly brought forth Frosmoth just in case that this thing coming out of the water might attack her. So far, it seemed intent on just seeing where things might go, but the young woman was not going to take any risks here. That thing looked like it could just tackle her into a pulp.
But hey, since it was here, might as well try and catch it. “Frosmoth, Icy Wind. Let’s see if that thing can freeze.” She probably was at quite the disadvantage in types. But there was a reason as to why her father was always so disappointed in her. Violet simply played everything by ear and she was incredibly stubborn. This was her Frosmoth, and it would have to be able to beat this Cloyster.
Sadly though, due to her being a terrible trainer, she failed to recognize that Ice was probably the worst type of attack to use against the Cloyster, which was barely dented and in return, flung an Ice Spear at Frosmoth. Fortunately for her, the latter was better at the whole fighting thing than she was and deftly avoided the attack to the side.
“Well, that didn’t work out well at all,” she mumbled to herself, thinking. It probably would have helped if she’d known more about that thing, really. However, she was able to recognize if something didn’t work. “Uh, try Bug Buzz instead,” she thus instructed. And this time around, It did a lot more. The Cloyster was currently spinning for some kind of attack when the Buzz hit, which flung it to the side straight into the sand with a thud, seemingly bedazzled. Now that part she did know. Pokemon were easiest to catch when they were out of their mind like this. Okay, she couldn’t quite see the thing’s face, since that was buried in the sand, but it was clearly not getting up on its own immediately. That was good enough, so she quickly threw one of her precious pokeballs.
